Plate 01From business systems to shared measures

One model.

Connect ERP, CRM and API data in a shared Microsoft Fabric foundation. Reports draw from the same model and business definitions.

One number.

Agree what each measure means, including its dates and rules. Give leaders a number they can trace and trust across the business.

One data lead.

Equip one capable person to run the function, with an AI framework that assists with engineering, testing, documentation and reporting.

01   /   The first build

What data model should you build first?

Start with one area of the business that cuts across systems. Marketing brings in a lead, sales wins a deal, finance issues an invoice and accounting records a payment. A connected data model shows how those events relate, so leaders can ask follow-up questions and get answers quickly without starting from scratch.

  1. 01 / Plan

    Draw the boundary.

We map the source systems, existing reports, access rules and people who approve the measures. Together we choose the first business question, estimate the build and ongoing Fabric costs, and decide what can wait.

  2. 02 / Build

    Connect the sources once.

We set up repeatable loads from the agreed ERP, CRM or APIs into your Fabric environment. The warehouse preserves the records and keys needed to trace a result back to its source. Your company controls access.

  3. 03 / Release

    Prove the first model.

Company leadership and teams across finance, sales, marketing and other business areas agree on the measures that matter. We validate the data model, resolve discrepancies and move the first report onto it.

Acceptance checklist / First release

What your company owns.

Before handover, the person who will run the function demonstrates how the system works and tests the AI assistant on a practical task, such as creating a report or adding a data connection. We validate the results together, confirming that your investment has created a foundation you can operate and build on.

Four things to inspect at handover

Shared measuresReproduce a figure finance has signed off.

02   /   The operating model

How one person runs the function.

Your data lead maintains pipelines, the warehouse and reporting, with the Mariners 7 AI framework assisting the work. Business leaders approve what each measure means. Your data lead tests changes and controls what goes into production.

Engineering / A new source

Add a system without starting over.

The next source uses the same access, loading, testing and documentation patterns. AI helps draft the mapping and pipeline changes. Your data lead checks keys, duplicates and refresh behavior before publishing the new data.

Reporting / A new question

Answer from the model you already own.

Leadership asks to see a measure by customer or time period. Your data lead checks that the model supports the request. With the Mariners 7 AI framework in place, your data lead can use a prompt or voice command to draft a report from approved models and measures, then verify the results before sharing.
